    Project background

The Region of Peel is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study to identify, develop and implement a solution to address future capacity needs and existing sanitary sewer issues in the Etobicoke Creek Trunk Sanitary Sewer, from Kennedy Road in the City of Brampton to Derry Road in the City of Mississauga.

The Etobicoke Creek Trunk Sewers service a large area extending north of Mayfield Road, which is projected to grow by approximately 40 percent. Therefore, this study was initiated to provide recommendations that will ensure reliable sanitary service is provided to existing and future growth in this area.

The study will follow a Schedule 'C' Class EA process, including: public and agency stakeholder meetings, evaluation of alternatives, identifying measures to reduce impact on the environment and a traceable, reproducible, decision making process.
