Routine school immunizations
Eligible students can get their HPV, Hep B, and Meningococcal vaccines.
How to receive other child immunizations
If your child needs to receive vaccines other than HPV, Hep B and Meningococcal, you can make an appointment with your doctor or health care provider. You can also refer to getting your child immunized for more details.
Who's eligible
This includes future doses of the multi-dose Hep B and HPV vaccines.
Meningococcal ACYW-135
All Grade 7 to 12 students.
Meningococcal C
Anyone born in 1986 or later.
Hepatitis B (Hep B)
All grade 7 to 12 students.
Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
- All grade 7 to 12 students.
- Anyone born in 2004 has until August 31, 2023 to get vaccinated.
- Females born in 2002 and 2003 have until August 31, 2023 to get vaccinated.
- Males born in 1993 or later who identify as having sex with men. Must complete doses by December 31, 2023.
Students who did not finish their vaccine series will only need to get the remaining dose or doses. A vaccine series does not need to be restarted even if the recommended time between doses has passed.
Children 12 years or older do not need to wait between receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and any of these vaccines (HPV, Hep B and Meningococcal).
Students who have had COVID-19 infection may receive routine immunizations any time after they have completed their self-isolation period and their symptoms are improving for at least 24 hours (48 hours if they have gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea).
Check your child’s vaccine record
Before booking an appointment for your child you will need to check if they’ve already received Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Hepatitis B (Hep B), or Meningococcal ACYW-135.
You can review your child’s immunizations in any of the following ways:
- Check their yellow immunization card.
- View their online immunization record.
- Call your doctor or primary care provider.
Required consent
Consent must be provided for students to receive the vaccines:
- Students under 14 years must provide parent or guardian consent.
- Students between the ages of 14 and 16 years can provide their own consent.
- Students 16 years or older must provide their own consent.
Parents and guardians should go with the student to the appointment if they require medical supervision during immunization.
