Schedule C Class Environmental Assessment

Background

The Region of Peel completed the 2020 Water and Wastewater Master Plan for the Lake-based Systems which identified the need to construct a new pressure zone 7 water storage and transmission infrastructure for West Caledon. This Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) will support this recommendation by developing, evaluating, and selecting a preferred storage facility and transmission main route to service the projected growth within the study area to 2051.

The study will follow the Schedule C Municipal Class EA process, which includes:

Three Public Information Centres (PICs) will be held to present the findings of the Class EA and to provide an opportunity to give feedback to the project team.

PIC No. 2 – Held September 20, 2023.

PIC No. 2 will outline the evaluation of the solution alternatives within the Infrastructure Focus Area, discuss the findings as per the Technical Discipline Studies, and present the selected preliminary preferred servicing solution including the location of the storage facility and transmission main alignment.

PIC No. 1 – Held November 9, 2022.

PIC No. 1 the background and objectives of the study, the Class EA process, the development, evaluation, and recommendation of the preliminary preferred storage type, and the selected preliminary preferred focus area for the new storage facility.
