Temporary trail access closure
Peel Region has been rehabilitating the sanitary sewer and maintenance holes (commonly called manholes) along Eglinton Avenue West. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality wastewater services.
To keep pedestrians safe during this construction work, the Eglinton Avenue West / Barbertown Road access point to Culham Trail has been closed, as shown on the attached map. Culham Trail can still be accessed from all other trail access points, including the Hewick Meadows south entrance on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West. Pedestrians can cross Eglinton Avenue West to access the trail using the intersection at Inverness Boulevard or at Mississauga Road.
The Culham Trail parking lot accessible from Eglinton Avenue West will remain open.
Construction schedule
Construction near the Eglinton Avenue West / Barbertown Road Culham Trail access point has begun and will finish in late summer. These timelines may change due to weather and/or other unexpected events. All work is under warranty for two years from the completion date.
Contractor working hours
The work is being completed by Capital Sewer Services Inc. and supported by AECOM Canada ULC, both under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your neighbourhood.
