Sanitary sewer relining and maintenance hole rehabilitation

Construction update

Peel Region has been rehabilitating the sanitary sewer and maintenance holes (commonly called manholes) along Eglinton Avenue West. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality wastewater services.

Traffic and parking

The northbound lane on The Chase just north of Eglinton Avenue West has been closed since June 30, 2025. It is not possible to turn onto The Chase from Eglinton Avenue West. Northbound traffic on The Chase south of Eglinton Avenue West is being diverted at Eglinton Avenue West, as it is not be possible to drive straight through the intersection. This road closure has been extended through to November 10, 2025. The southbound lane will remain open.

During this time, traffic may be directed by police officers or flag persons. The onsite contractor will guide emergency service vehicles and school buses through the closure.

Pedestrian Impacts

To facilitate this critical work, the sidewalk on the northern side of The Chase will be closed at 1690 The Chase from September 15, 2025 until November 10, 2025. Pedestrians will be directed to use the sidewalk on the south side of The Chase.
