Respite care is not only for crisis situations
Respite care is a pre-planned short-term support option for caregivers who need time to rest, work, focus on their health, or recharge. It is designed to prevent crisis, not respond to one.
Taking a break can help you and your loved one
Taking a break is an act of strength and responsibility. Respite care helps caregivers maintain their wellbeing so they can continue providing safe, loving support.
We offer individualized support
Clients receive individualized support with personal care, daily living tasks, nutritious meals, and access to Adult Day Services, all with trained staff on‑site.
Cost details
A respite stay costs about $80 per day, including Adult Day Services (no additional payment required). The fee is reviewed annually, and a subsidy may be available for those with low income.
Respite care is not the same as rehabilitation or post-hospital care
Respite care is not emergency care, convalescent care, rehab, or post-hospital recovery. It’s strictly short-term support to give caregivers a break.
How often you can use respite care
We have a two-week maximum per stay, but you can stay multiple times per year as long as there is availability. Are you looking for a longer stay? Contact us to discuss.
Caregiver testimonials
“Please don’t wait until you are burned out to put your loved one in respite care. Do your research and ask all the questions you need to ask. My personal experience with this was amazing and my mother actually loved it. Knowing this put my mind at ease and I now have scheduled respite throughout the year. It gives me time to spend with my children and on myself without worry. “ – Caregiver Kiran
“Respite is like taking a break on a journey – a time for caregivers to focus on ourselves, regain our sense of self, recharge and refresh so that we can resume our caregiving journey. Remember that it is not a 100-metre dash; it is a long marathon. It is not all in the mind; it is about our bodies as well. Rest. Take your time. It is worth it!” – Caregiver Nancy
“The care, the love, the one-on-one interaction with the staff is what we really find exceptional. And attending the Adult Day program to interact with other seniors and staff members is priceless. We feel that we are leaving Mary with family. We can go home knowing that Mary will be safe, happy, and well taken care of. And we get a chance to reenergize, rest, and relax.” – Caregivers Robert and JoAnne
“Rita has had the pleasure of enjoying the facility and day program activities seamlessly and returns home happy and relaxed. She gets excited knowing she will have opportunities for future overnight visits at the facility. For myself it has been life changing. I now feel that I have a support system that will allows me to finally take a break and time away without feeling guilty or worried about Rita's safety or health and wellness.” – Caregiver Teresa
