Notice of Environmental Study Report Review West Caledon storage facility and transmission main

    Intro
    Schedule C Class Environmental Assessment
    Body

    Background

    Image

Peel Region completed the 2020 Water and Wastewater Master Plan for the Lake-based Systems, which identified the need to construct a new pressure zone 7 water storage and transmission infrastructure for West Caledon. This Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) will support this recommendation by developing, evaluating, and selecting a preferred storage facility and transmission main route to service the projected growth within the study area to 2051.

    Process

The study will follow the Schedule C Municipal Class EA process, which includes:

    • Satisfying Phases 1-4 of the Class EA Process.
    • Holding public and agency stakeholder meetings.
    • Providing a solution that best meets the needs of existing and future servicing areas.
    • Investigating alternative long-term servicing strategies, routes, and design concepts.
    • Confirming the preferred plan, including routes, sites, design, and schedule.

    Your input is important

    Environmental Study Report

The public is invited to review the draft Environmental Study Report (ESR) and provide the Project Team with any feedback and comments.

    Environmental Study Report

    Appendices

    • Volume 1: Supporting technical studies and documents
    • Volume 2: Communication and engagement
    • Volume 3: Supporting discipline studies

If you require an accessible version of the appendices, contract the project manager.

The ESR is available for public review between Thursday, June 11 and Friday, July 10.

The report summarizes the study, including the development and evaluation of alternative strategies, the proposed implementation plan, and consultation with agencies, the public, and Indigenous Communities through each phase of the Class EA process.
