Open house - Williams Parkway watermain construction
BRAMPTON, ON (June 11, 2025) - Peel Region is preparing to start construction of a large watermain on Williams Parkway, between Dixie Road and McLaughlin Road. The work is scheduled to begin this fall.
To help residents and commuters understand what to expect during construction, we’re hosting a Public Information Centre on Thursday, June 19, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton. The event is drop-in, and attendees can speak directly with the project team. Free parking is available on the west side of the building.
The Williams Parkway watermain will ensure a continued supply of clean, safe, and reliable drinking water as Brampton continues to grow.
As part of the Flow Program, this project is one of the many capital projects being undertaken to deliver the infrastructure needed to support 1.5 million homes to be built in Ontario over the next 10 years. The Flow Program is designed to accelerate the delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure to meet both community and provincial needs—now and into the future.
To minimize construction disruptions, a tunnel will be dug underground between deep shafts, safely surrounded by concrete walls. Tunnel shafts will be located at several sites along Williams Parkway, including:
- Newcastle Park
- Bramalea Ltd. Community Park (Former Dog Park)
- Kennedy Road North
- Centre Street North
- Armbro Park
- East of McLaughlin Road
While this type of construction reduces area impacts, there will still be some traffic and sidewalk disruptions. To learn more about the program and the Williams Parkway project, visit the project webpage.
