Project 14-1256
Streets affected: Williams Parkway between Mississauga Road and Dixie Road
Project updates
Construction details
Peel Region is installing a new, large watermain along Williams Parkway from Mississauga Road to Dixie Road as shown in the attached map. The watermain will be installed by tunnelling deep underground and construction will only be visible around shaft/compound areas, shown on the “Phase 1” map.
Large watermains move water between Peel’s water treatment plants and pumping stations which increases the capacity in our system. The Williams Parkway Watermain, along with other watermains being constructed in the area, will play a critical role in supplying Brampton’s downtown core with a safe and reliable drinking water and support its continued growth.
This watermain will connect the existing West Brampton Pumping Station and Reservoir on Mississauga Road to the new East Brampton watermain.
Construction schedule
The project will be divided into two major phases:
- Phase 1: McLaughlin Road to Dixie Road – Late summer 2025 to spring 2028
- Phase 2: Mississauga Road to McLaughlin Road – Fall 2026 to spring 2029
Keeping you informed
A Public Information Centre will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at 10 Peel Centre Drive (Peel Region headquarters), in the Brampton/Caledon Rooms. Free parking is available on the west side of the building.
This informal drop-in event is an opportunity to speak with the project team; ask questions; and learn about the tunnelling process, what to expect during construction, how work could impact you, what we’ll do to minimize inconvenience, and other local projects.

Working with others
We’re coordinating our work with the City of Brampton during their road redevelopment project on Williams Parkway. It is expected this work will be completed simultaneously with the City’s work between McLaughlin Road and Dixie Road (Phase 1).
