Project 24-1969 – June 17, 2026 update
Streets affected: Macville Water Booster Pump Station at King Street West and Coleraine Drive
Construction work in your area
As part of the Flow | South Caledon Program, Peel Region will be constructing a new water booster pump station, referred to as the Macville Water Booster Pump Station, at the northeast corner of King Street West and Coleraine Drive as shown on the attached map.
As communities grow and water travels longer distances, additional pressure is sometimes needed to ensure water continues to flow reliably throughout the system. A booster pump station increases water pressure in the pipes so that residents and businesses continue to receive a consistent supply of safe, high-quality drinking water.
The Macville Water Booster Pump Station will service new development in the Bolton area, as well as provide additional system pressures for existing developments within the Bolton area.
Construction schedule
Construction is planned to start in Summer 2026 and finish in the end of 2028. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events. All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
What to expect during construction
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Torbear Contracting Inc. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area.
Traffic
We may need to temporarily impact traffic lanes along King Street West and Coleraine Drive. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions.
Interrupting your water supply
For residents:
- If we need to shut off your water for several hours, our goal is to let you know 48 hours (2 days) in advance. Sometimes, we must reduce this notice to 24 hours.
- If we need to shut off your water for a short time (less than one hour), we’ll knock on your door.
- If we need to shut off your water due to an emergency, we’ll knock on your door and do everything we can to fix the problem quickly.
For businesses:
- If your business needs a continuous water supply, please let us know when and how your business uses water.
- If we need to shut off your water due to an emergency, we’ll knock on your door and do everything we can to fix the problem quickly.
Vibrations, noise, and dust
You could feel slight vibrations and experience some minor noise and dust from construction work.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about staying safe in construction areas.
Tree trimming
Branches on public and private property will be pruned beforehand if they interfere with construction. The contractor will contact you before pruning any private property trees. If you do not allow the contractor on your property, the branches will be cut vertically at the property line.
