Project 14-1256 – May 15, 2025 update
Streets affected: Williams Parkway from Dixie Road to McLaughlin Road
Williams Parkway Watermain Project and Public Information Centre #1
Background
To help make new homes available faster, Peel has taken a significant step toward building the water infrastructure needed to meet the housing targets outlined in the More Homes Built Faster Act (Bill 23). The Flow Program will expedite the construction of essential water and wastewater infrastructure to meet community and provincial needs, now and in the future, including the Williams Parkway Watermain Project.
About the project
Peel will install a new large diameter watermain along Williams Parkway between Dixie Road and McLaughlin Road. The work is expected to start in late summer/fall 2025 and be completed by spring 2028.
To minimize inconvenience to area residents, businesses and commuters, the work will be tunnelled, which includes digging access shafts, shown on the map, and tunnelling under the ground between them. As the work takes place mostly underground, it can be less intrusive than digging a long trench to install the new watermain. Traffic and noise impacts are usually limited to shaft locations, where most of the work takes place.
