Update: Additional vaccines now available for ordering on the Health Professionals Portal.
Key messages:
- Peel physicians can now order Hepatitis B (HB) and Human Papillomavirus (HPV-9) vaccines on the Health Professionals Portal for eligible students who did not receive their dose from Peel Public Health. Meningococcal ACYW-135 (Men-C-ACYW) vaccine for this population is already available on the portal.
- Remind parents and guardians to report any school-based vaccines given in your office to Peel Public Health.
- Peel physicians can also order HB and HPV-9 vaccines on the portal for eligible individuals under the high-risk programs. Faxed or emailed requisition forms are no longer required.
- For high-risk Hepatitis A (HA) and Meningococcal (Men-C-ACYW and 4CMenB) vaccines, a requisition form must still be completed and faxed for processing.
Update: Additional vaccines now available for ordering on the Health Professionals Portal
Additional vaccines in the school-based and high-risk immunization programs are now available for ordering through the Health Professionals Portal. These vaccines are intended for eligible students and individuals who meet high-risk criteria in accordance with the Ontario Publicly Funded Immunization Schedule.
Ensure all orders comply with the established eligibility criteria and vaccine storage requirements.
School-based vaccines
Peel physicians can now order HB and HPV-9 vaccines for eligible students who did not get them through Peel Public Health - either in the Grade 7 school-based vaccine program or through catch-up immunization clinics. Note: Men-C-ACYW vaccine continues to be available to order and is required under the Immunization of School Pupil’s Act (ISPA) for school attendance.
Students in Grades 7 and 8 will continue to be vaccinated through Peel Public Health's school-based clinics, with additional catch-up clinics available for students up to Grade 12.
Vaccines may be ordered for the following eligible groups:
- High school students (Grades 9-12) who missed their vaccines in school.
- Grade 7 or 8 students who are unable to receive the vaccine in school due to special circumstances (e.g., previous adverse reactions, complex medical history, or students residing in surrounding jurisdictions).
Order quantities are being capped to help minimize wastage. Requests for larger quantities may be submitted by emailing vaccinemanagement@peelregion.ca.
Remind parents and guardians to report school-based vaccines given at your office to ensure they do not receive unnecessary additional doses, and to ensure their immunization record remains up to date.
High-risk program vaccines
Peel physicians can also order HB and HPV-9 vaccines for individuals that meet the eligibility criteria under the high-risk programs. Faxed or emailed requisition forms are no longer required.
Hepatitis B (HB) vaccine eligibility:
- Household and sexual contacts of acute HB cases or chronic carriers (including neonates).
- Chronic liver disease (including Hepatitis C and awaiting liver transplant).

HB and HPV vaccine eligibility and schedule resource
A HB and HPV vaccine eligibility and schedule resource is being developed to support physicians in determining patient eligibility and appropriate dosing and intervals. The resource will be shared shortly.
High-risk Hepatitis A and Meningococcal vaccine programs
For vaccines under the high-risk Hepatitis A (HA) and high-risk Meningococcal (Men-C-ACYW and 4CMenB) programs, completion of the appropriate requisition form is still required. Once completed, fax the form to the number indicated on the form for processing.
Requisition forms are available online.
