Community Recycling Centres
Peel Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) are disposal centres for household hazardous waste, garbage, recyclable, and reusable items.
All CRCs provide public drop-off areas for:
- Household hazardous waste (limited amounts).
- Recyclable and non-recyclable items.
As a reminder
- Follow COVID-19 measures. Don’t visit a CRC if you feel unwell.
- Masks are mandatory indoors. Masks for outdoor areas of the CRCs are strongly encouraged.
- CRC staff cannot unload items from your vehicle.
- Practice physical distancing whenever possible.
Permanent service changes and disposal fees
- Waived disposal fees have ended for single loads (one per day) weighing 100 kg.
- A minimum $6 fee for the first 50 kg will apply.
- Loads over 50 kg will be charged at $118 per tonne.
- Dedicated loads of recycling, metals, electronics, and appliances continue to be accepted for free.
Payments and receipts:
- Only payment by debit, VISA, or MasterCard are accepted.
- Cash payments are not accepted.
- Paper receipts are not provided on-site. To get a receipt, send us an email stating which CRC you visited, the date of your visit, and your license plate number.
Tire collection is ending
- Tires are not accepted.
- Choose one of many tire collection sites near you to ensure proper disposal.
Temporary changes
Disposal fees: Caledon CRC yard waste drop-off
- A yard waste load weighing up to 150 kg (331 lbs) can be dropped off for free at the Caledon CRC.
- If a yard waste load exceeds 150 kg, the first 150 kg is free, then a 12¢ per kg charge will apply to the rest of load.
Suspended until further notice:
- In-person sale of garbage tags
- Sale of kitchen containers, compost, backyard composters, and rain barrels.

The Region operates 6 Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) in Peel: 2 in Brampton, 2 in Caledon, and 2 in Mississauga. All CRCs are closed on statutory holidays.

Household hazardous waste
You can dispose of these items for free.
Recyclable materials
These items are acceptable recyclable materials.
Reusable items
Donation drop-off areas are available. Limited items are accepted.
Check locations. The Bolton CRC donation drop-off area is closed until further notice.
Other acceptable CRC items – fees apply
Drop-off fees apply to items such as:
- Garbage.
- Residential yard waste.
- Clean fill - soil, sod, topsoil, clay, and sand.
- Construction, renovation and demolition material (insulation must be double-bagged). Asbestos is NOT accepted.

Disposal fees:

All waste and recyclables taken to a Peel CRC must originate in Peel.
- Ensure that children under 12 stay in the vehicle while you're unloading your waste items.
- Properly secure your loads.
- Dispose of your materials in the appropriate bin.
- CRC staff are practicing physical distancing. They cannot unload items from your vehicle.
- Don't scavenge.
Proof of residence
To drop off items at a CRC you must prove that you live in Peel OR that the business or individual you work for – or provide a service for – is located in Peel.
Proof of residence documents include:
- Residents – identification with a current Peel residential address (for example, a driver's license and a tax or utility bill).
- Small businesses – an original signed letter on company letterhead.
- Contractors – a signed contract or work order with a Peel address referencing the company vehicle.
Acceptable and unacceptable transport vehicles
Vehicles accessing a CRC must meet certain requirements.
Acceptable vehicles:
- Cars, vans, and pick-up trucks.
- Vehicles with trailers (maximum 12 m (40 ft) long).
- Box trucks and cube vans (maximum 5 m (16 ft) long).
- Vehicles with a total gross weight less than 5 tonnes (combined weight of vehicle and load).
Tip truck loads – Fewster only
Small tip trucks (maximum 7.50 m (25 ft) long) are accepted at only the Fewster CRC.
Tip trailer loads – Fewster and Heart Lake only
Vehicles with tip trailers (maximum 12 m (40 ft) long) are accepted at only the Fewster and Heart Lake CRCs.
Unacceptable vehicles for all CRC locations:
- Dump trucks
- Stake trucks
- Roll-off trucks
- Garbage packer trucks
- Tractor trailers
- Any vehicle heavier than 5 tonnes (gross weight)
For health and safety and liability reasons, CRCs cannot accept walk-ins, bicycle traffic, or e-bikes on the platform.
You may walk or ride a bike, to drop off items at the Reuse or Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) areas of the CRCs. This includes material normally dropped off on the platforms, e.g., scrap metal (drop off at HHW area).
All paper shredding events have been postponed until further notice.
Shredded paper is not accepted at Peel CRCs.
