Provincial audits of finances cancelled.
The Ontario government announced on December 13, 2023 that discussions with partners will continue but they are terminating the ongoing audit for Peel Region and 5 other municipalities.
Instead, the province will begin consultations with its municipal partners on the impacts of the More Homes Built Faster Act and their ability to fund growth-related infrastructure that will support the construction of more homes. Consultation will also include a review of the five-year phase-in of development charge increases and fee refund framework and inform possible changes in the upcoming Housing Supply Action Plan.
