Peel employee questions and concerns about the transition.

Peel employees are our most important and valuable asset. Their passion, dedication and hard work are behind the high-quality delivery of services that residents, businesses and community partners in Peel have received over the past 49 years.

The announcement and the continued uncertainty of Bill 112 has been difficult on the mental health and well-being of Peel employees. Many staff have expressed deep concerns and raised numerous questions.

However, on April 10, 2024, the Ontario government introduced Bill 185, Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act 2024. The proposed legislation includes implications for Peel Region operations and responsibilities.

On June 6, Bill 185, received Royal Assent, confirming that Peel Region will not be dissolved.
