    Smoking and vaping signs for businesses to order

    Businesses must post Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 signs where smoking or vaping is not permitted. Businesses must also post Peel Outdoor No Smoking or No Vaping By-law signs where smoking or vaping is not permitted.

    Registered charities can also order signs.

    Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017

    Peel Public Health enforces the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017. This Act outlines the rules for smoking (cannabis and tobacco smoking) and vaping (all types of vaping).

    Smoke-Free Ontario Act signs are available for ordering without a fee (some restrictions apply). Businesses must post Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 signs where smoking or vaping is not permitted.

    Peel Outdoor No Smoking or No Vaping By-law

    The Peel Outdoor No Smoking or No Vaping By-law (49-2019) was passed in 2019. This By-law outlines the rules for smoking and vaping in Peel region. Get more information about smoking and vaping enforcement.

    Peel Region Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping By-law requires businesses to post signs on their premises where applicable. Metal signs are available for purchase for $5.85 each, HST included.

    Metal signs are free for registered charities. Registration number must be provided when ordering.

    • Review the Smoke Free Ontario Act, 2017 and Peel Outdoor No Smoking or No Vaping By-law.
    • Provide name of business or registered charity (registration number required).
    • Provide mailing address.
    • Details of the type of sign you want.
    • Details of how many signs you want.

    Fees

    Businesses can purchase Peel Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping metal signs for $5.85 each, HST included.

    Peel Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping metal signs are free for registered charities. Registration number must be provided when ordering.

    Peel Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping stickers are free for businesses and registered charities. 

    How to order

    Peel Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping signage

    Sign A

    To purchase and pick-up Peel Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping metal signs and stickers:

    • Email us to order Sign A
    • When your order request has been reviewed, processed, and is ready for pick-up, visit Service Peel at 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga.

    Sign B

    To purchase and pick-up Peel Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping metal signs and stickers visit the Service Peel counter at 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga.

    Purchase limit

    There is a purchase limit for the metal signs. Each business or charity is allowed to purchase up to 10 of metal signs A or B. The limit applies to stickers as well. Email us if you need more signage beyond the purchase limit.

    Email or call Peel Public Health to order the Smoke-Free Ontario Act signs.

    You can also download, print and post:

    • Smoke-Free Ontario Act signs
    • Peel no smoking no vaping anywhere on property (sign A)
    • Peel no smoking no vaping within 9 metres (sign B)

    Peel Outdoor No Smoking No Vaping sign types

    Sign A: No smoking or no vaping anywhere on this property are signs posted outdoors for sites such as:

    • Outdoor public places such as parks, swimming pools, trails or paths, and sports fields.
    • Outdoor municipal and regional properties, such as libraries, museums, municipal offices, and transit facilities.
    • Outdoor construction sites.

     

    Sign B: No smoking or no vaping within 9 metres of building, facility, structure are signs posted outdoors for sites such as:

    • Indoor public place such as, medical centres, shopping malls, and restaurants.
    • Indoor workplaces like office buildings.
