Lornewood Creek sanitary sewer
Study background
The Regional Municipality of Peel is undertaking a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study to determine the preferred alternatives for the Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer Improvements in the City of Mississauga. Through the Class Environmental Assessment planning process, the Region will examine the following:
- Inspection results of the Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer identified pipe exposure at several locations throughout the study area;
- The routing of the existing sanitary sewer (constructed in 1972), which is currently located in an easement within Lornewood Creek Valley;
- Selection of the alternatives and evaluation of preferred solutions to the sanitary sewer improvements;
- Assess the impacts of the project and identify measures to mitigate any adverse impacts.
This notice signals the commencement of the study which will define the problem, consider and evaluate alternative solutions, and design concepts, and present the evaluation process to interested or affected individuals and agencies at Public Information Centres (PICs). The study will be conducted in accordance with a Schedule C project as described in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, by the Municipal Engineers Association, October 2007.
