Inglewood wastewater treatment plant upgrades
Environmental Assessment for upgrades and new access route.
The Region of Peel has identified the need for extensive upgrades of the Inglewood Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to provide reliable performance into the future.
A thorough design review identified upgrades which include the following.
- More efficient equipment in existing building
- Additional standby equipment for backup power or maintenance requirements
- Construction of a new treatment tank and building
New access route
A new plant access route was also identified as the existing entrance is through a private driveway causing operational concerns and disruption to the residents and their business operations. A number of alternative access routes were developed, and through extensive consultation two preferred solutions were established using the existing Caledon Trail.
