Watermain replacement and improvement
Glen Erin Drive between Folkway Drive and Marshdale Court
Peel Region is working in your neighborhood to replace the watermains along Glen Erin Drive. Some upcoming work will take place overnight, in order to reduce the impact of the construction timeline. This overnight work will occur on Glen Erin Drive near the Highway 403 overpass. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences caused by this work.
Schedule
The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing work to be done by our contractor overnight. This overnight work is expected to take place Monday to Friday evenings, from Tuesday July 2nd until Wednesday July 12th, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.
Traffic impacts
This work will require a lane closure on southbound Glen Erin Drive from Marshdale Court to Folkway Drive until around the end of October 2024. Signage will be available for detour route directions. We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane during construction. If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions. On-street parking will be reduced during construction when we are actively working on your street
Noise
We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local residents as much as possible.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe - pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
