Peel Region is widening and improving Mississauga Road as shown on the attached map. The work includes:
- new road-over-rail bridge separating Mississauga Road from the CN Rail tracks;
- reconstruction and widening of the roadway:
- 2-to-6 lanes from Bovaird Drive to Sandalwood Parkway,
- 2-to-4 lanes from Sandalwood Parkway to Wanless Drive;
- new multi-use pathway along the east side of Mississauga Road;
- new streetlighting, landscaping and boulevard improvements; and,
- traffic intersection and signal improvements.
Construction schedule
We expect to start work in Summer 2023 and finish in Summer 2026.
Typical hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Some weekend and overnight work is required at the railway bridge to mitigate impact to critical CN Rail and Metrolinx service. Extended working hours may cause some inconvenience however they will help facilitate completion of the project as quickly and safely as possible.
Traffic impacts
- One lane of traffic in either direction will be maintained for most works.
- Single lane reductions will only take place with short duration during off-peak traffic hours for select activities.
- Two separate weekend road closures are required to construct the new road-over-rail bridge.
- Roadside message boards will be posted in advance to notify the travelling public of the upcoming road closures.
- Access for emergency vehicles and businesses will be always maintained.
- Please use caution when travelling through the work zone and obey all traffic signs, flag persons, and Paid Duty Police Officers when present.
Other impacts
You may feel slight vibrations from the construction work.

- Peel Region will always let you know if there are any major changes to the plans while doing our best to minimize disturbing you.
