Seven Peel paramedics honoured for exemplary service
BRAMPTON, ON (October 4) – Peel Region is proud to announce that seven Peel paramedics have been selected to receive the 2023 Governor General's Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal.
This award is presented to paramedics who have provided at least 20 years of exemplary service, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency. At least 10 of the years of service must have been on duty in the field, involving potential risk to the individual.
On Thursday, Sept. 28, the 20–year Exemplary Service Medal was presented to the following Peel paramedics at the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chief's Award Ceremony at Blue Mountain:
- Alison Crossby
- Michael Donnelly
- Danielle Gingrich
- Brent Gorzynski
The 30 and 40–year Bars will be presented to the following paramedics later in the year at a ceremony at Queen's Park.

The Governor General's EMS Exemplary Service Medal is one of the highest awards a paramedic can receive in Ontario. The dedication and contribution of these paramedics over the years not only to Peel's communities but also to the paramedic profession is being recognized and rightfully so. I hope they wear their medals with pride.
