Regional Council approves Peel's Strategic Agenda 2024-2027
BRAMPTON, ON (Oct. 18, 2024) - Last week, Peel Region Council approved Peel's Strategic Agenda 2024-2027, which sets out to advance Peel Region Council's approved 20-year Strategic Plan. With a focus on addressing complexities and risks faced in Peel region and to forge ahead into the future, the Strategic Agenda re-anchors to the 20-year Strategic Plan and outlines short-term work to achieve long-term outcomes and advance Peel's vision of Community for Life.
Community for Life reflects Peel's vision to ensure all residents enjoy a sense of belonging and thrive in a community where they feel connected and supported throughout each stage of their lives.
Over the past several years, Peel has navigated significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic response and ongoing Provincial review. Despite these disruptions, Peel remains focused on its long-term vision, with the newly approved Strategic Agenda providing a roadmap for continued progress.
The Strategic Agenda is organized under five key pillars - Housing and Social Impact, Sustainability, Service Excellence, Our People, and Future Ready. Each pillar includes corresponding outcomes and key initiatives that address Peel's unique challenges and opportunities, including population growth and legislative shifts, focusing on delivering sustainable and impactful services. The Strategic Agenda is supported by Peel Region's values which guide how Peel staff work together to deliver services and interact with the community.
Peel will continue to provide annual performance monitoring and reporting to Peel Region Council on the progress made toward achieving the outcomes outlined in Peel's Strategic Plan.
