Brampton, ON - (December 15, 2022) – The Region of Peel is a proud recipient of the 2022 Canada's Healthy Workplace Month®, Great Employer Award presented by Excellence Canada.
This award recognizes employers for their achievements in four elements of a healthy workplace including: (1) Physical Health; (2) Mental Health; (3) Social Health; and (4) Community. Highlights from Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month (CHWM) Great Employer Application include:

  • Healthy workplace support initiatives for employees during a time when COVID-19 significantly impacted the Region.
  • Development of resources to support the implementation of the Canadian Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
  • People of Peel YouTube playlist which highlights unique roles of various employees and teams, in multiple settings, including Early Years Centres, Healthy Sexuality Clinics, Paramedics, TransHelp, Stormfighters, and many others.
  • Increased access to electric vehicle charging stations for employees and community members to support the Region's Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy.

In 2019, the Region earned a Platinum Award for Excellence, Innovation, and Wellness from Excellence Canada.
