National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Service Hours at the Region of Peel

Brampton, ON (September 22, 2021) – Region of Peel offices and non-emergency services will be closed in observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

The following non-emergency services are closed and will reopen on Friday, October 1, 2021:

Vaccination Clinics

Vaccination clinics continue to be open. To book your appointment, visit: COVID-19 vaccine.

Emergency shelter, food, medication, or personal support

For urgent homelessness supports, including food, supplies, referrals, and shelter, call the Street Helpline 24/7 at 1-877-848-8481. For information on emergency shelter, visit the emergency shelter web page or call 905-450-1996.

Peel Living Maintenance Requests

For Peel Living maintenance requests, contact the 24-hour request line at 905-790-7335.

TransHelp

All trips for Thursday, September 30 and Friday, October 1 must be booked by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29.

Public Transit

Visit Brampton Transit and Mississauga Transit for holiday schedules.

Waste collection Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon

Waste collection at the curb continues Thursday, September 30. Check your collection calendar to find your pickup day or sign up to receive free waste collection reminders. All Community Recycling Centres are closed Thursday, September 30 and return to their regular schedules on Friday, October 1.

Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA)

Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) is temporarily closed until early 2022 to conduct upgrades to the facility. However, in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, and Culture Days which begins September 24, PAMA has invited two Indigenous artists to showcase their work and stories in two outdoor installations in September: Katherine Takpannie and Tracey-Mae Chambers.
