Additional workplace hotspot vaccination clinics coming to Peel

Six new employers to begin workplace clinics

Brampton, ON. (May 5, 2021) – Peel’s Community Mass Vaccination Plan continues to expand to reach residents and workers in hot spots. In addition to community clinics, hospital clinics, pharmacy locations and pop-up clinics, six new workplace clinics will operate in Peel. These clinics are a continuation of the public-private vaccination partnerships that were introduced in Peel last month.

As selected by the province, the next workplaces to participate are: HelloFresh, Walmart, Loblaws, Magna, Air Canada, and Purolator.

The clinics listed above are for employees of each facility only. Discussions around locations and dates of operation through these employers continue and will be finalized shortly. These same workplaces will also operate future local community clinics in partnership with the Region of Peel and community organizations, held at community centres, places of worship or other community hubs that will continue to focus on vaccinating our hardest to reach populations beyond the general public that cannot otherwise be vaccinated through our mass vaccination clinics.

Provincial criteria for selecting workplaces includes hot spot location, outbreak data, and willingness of the employer to operate and fund an on-site clinic for their employees and a separate clinic for the community.

Expanding the workplace vaccination program allows for more needles in arms, especially for our hardest to reach, which will help the community as a whole. Vaccinations in workplaces offer a convenient way for employers to help their workers and will help to protect friends and relatives throughout the region.
