Correction to COVID-19 travel advice given at Brampton Press Conference on August 26th, 2020

September 1, 2020 (BRAMPTON, ON)

“Last week, at Brampton's press conference, I asked residents to reconsider travel outside of the Region.

It's important to clarify that this suggestion refers to international travel. Peel Public Health's advice aligns with federal recommendations against non-essential travel outside of Canada.

At this time, Peel Public Health does not have any recommendations against domestic travel outside of our Region. However, we encourage everyone, whether out and about in our community or travelling elsewhere in Canada, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by practicing the Core Four Behaviours: maintaining a physical distance of two metres from people outside one's social circle, wearing a non-medical mask where that is not possible, handwashing, and getting tested and staying home if one is sick.”
