1639 Lakeshore Road West
Bringing 50 supportive housing units to Clarkson Village in Mississauga.
- Applications open
In partnership with Peel Region and the Government of Canada, Indwell Community Homes will create 50 supportive housing units in the Clarkson community in Mississauga.
Councillor Tedjo is hosting a community engagement meeting for this project on December 13. If you are interested in attending, visit the Councillor’s website.
1639 Lakeshore Road West is located in Ward 2 in Mississauga and is close to high-frequency bus service, social services, parks, schools, and the Clarkson Business Improvement Area (BIA) commercial corridor.
Indwell recently purchased a vacant lot at 1639 Lakeshore Road West, Mississauga to develop into affordable supportive housing.
This project will support some of Mississauga’s most vulnerable who face housing insecurity including women, BIPOC (black, indigenous, and other people of colour), and those who live with mental health challenges, addiction, or physical and mental disabilities.
1639 Lakeshore Road West will include a 4-storey apartment building with 50 affordable supportive units. A supportive housing model will connect residents to health and wellness resources while creating a sense of belonging.
The building will be constructed to the energy efficient Passive House standard with shared common spaces as well as amenities, services, and ground floor commercial space. Initial concepts include an outdoor patio overlooking Turtle Creek.
