    Drop-in and homeless support programs

    Offering meals, basic needs, stay the night, and other programs to support those who are homeless.

    In Peel there are many programs available to support housing, shelter, and basic needs.

    Street Helpline

    1-877-848-8481

    Offering 24/7 support for urgent homelessness needs, food, shelter access, referrals and more. The Street Helpline connects to our mobile Street Outreach team who can often come to your location to help. If you’re in crisis or face an urgent need, call us. Learn more about street outreach.

    Shelter Intake Line

    We can help you find the best option in any Peel shelter, including in adult, youth, and family shelters. Learn more about our shelters.

    Providing overnight beds, meals, showers, laundry, and basic needs to support people experiencing homelessness.

    Sacredhand Canada

    280 Britannia Road E., Mississauga

    Beyond four walls: embracing the homeless, one safe haven at a time. Offering women 16 years or older experiencing homelessness a safe and warm place to sleep during the cold winter months.

    Program runs 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

    Services include:

    • A warm, clean bed
    • Dinner, snacks, and breakfast
    • Showers and washrooms
    • Laundry, towels, and toiletries

    St. Leonard’s Place Peel

    1105 Queen St E, Brampton

    For men 18 years or older experiencing homelessness. Winter program runs November 18, 2024, to March 14, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

    Services include: 

    • Warm bed
    • Snacks
    • Personal hygiene items 
    • Shower
    • Laundry facilities

    Mississauga Library’s Open Window Hub is a resource and information centre supporting and empowering people experiencing homelessness or mental health issues within the City of Mississauga.

    The Compass Food Bank

    427 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga

    Services include:

    • Food bank serving postal codes L5G, L5H, L5E and L5J
    • Meals served from our kitchen Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to half hour before close
    • Showers
    • Computer and phone access
    • Staff support
    • Additional seasonal support
    • Additional agency supports on site

    • Monday: Food bank and drop in from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Tuesday and Thursday: Drop-in from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
    • Wednesday and Friday: Food bank and drop in from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Mississauga’s help for the homeless supports people at-risk of or experiencing homelessness in Mississauga including hot meals and showers at community centres.
