Summary description of the IPAC lapse
- Operator failed to immediately dispose of single use blades after use on a client.
- Operator failed to store and dispense products in a manner to prevent contamination.
- Operator failed to properly clean and disinfect reusable equipment after use on clients.
IPAC lapse investigation
Did the IPAC lapse involve a member of a regulatory college? No.
Were any corrective measures recommended? Yes.
Details of the corrective measures
- A public health inspector instructed the operator on required corrective measures.
- Operator must immediately discard all used single-use items/blades after use on clients. Blades must be disposed of in an approved sharps container.
- Operator cleaned and disinfected all reusable equipment.
- Operator must dispense and store products in a manner to prevent contamination.
- The operator was educated on the requirements of the Personal Service Settings Regulation 136/18.
- The public health inspector issued an inspection report on May 16, 2024 outlining required corrective measures. A Conditional Pass inspection summary sign was also issued to the operator. The operator posted the sign at the entrance to the facility.

A public health inspector conducted a re-inspection on 2024-05-21. The operator corrected all items of non-compliance.
