Water and wastewater workshops and tours
In-person workshops and tours delivered by the Region of Peel.
In-person workshops
Grade 2 and Grade 8
During these 40-minute, engaging and curriculum-connected presentations Region of Peel educators will use interactive discussions and activities to teach students:
- Where our drinking water comes from
- How water and wastewater are treated at our treatment facilities
- What they can do to save water
Teachers are provided with handouts to support student engagement during the workshop.
Information before you book:
- Workshops are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Workshops are delivered in-person at your school; one class per workshop.
- Each school must register at least 3 classes, up to a maximum of 8 classes, per day.
- Workshops are intended for Grade 2 and Grade 8 classes. When booking for a split class please indicate this in the comments section of the booking form.

In-person facility tours
Grades 8 to 12
Discover how water is treated in Peel through this unique tour of our water and wastewater treatment facilities. Students will learn:
- The stages of water and wastewater treatment in Peel
- Where Peel's drinking water comes from
- How we ensure Peel's water is safe and clean to drink
- What happens to wastewater when it goes down the drain
- What should - and shouldn't - be put down the drain
Information before you book:
- Tours are available on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Tours are delivered in-person at our water and wastewater treatment facilities located in Mississauga; one class per tour.
- While the tour is free, schools are responsible for arranging and paying for their own transportation. Please note that a school bus is required for the tour of the facilities.
