Projects 18-1380 and 11-2380 - June 27, 2022 update
Watermain, sanitary sewer replacement, road repairs and resurfacing
Notice for traffic impacts during service connections
What are we doing with traffic?
- The new watermain on Queen Street East (Main Street to Chapel Street/Theatre Lane) has now been installed. Properties on this section of Queen Street East will now have their individual water service pipes transferred from the old watermain to the new watermain.
- During connections on the north side of Queen Street, our Contractor will occupy the two lanes on the north side of the road, while the south side of the road will have two lanes for traffic (one lane in each direction).
- During connections on the south side of Queen Street, our Contractor will occupy the two lanes on the south side of the road, while the north side of the road will have two lanes for traffic (one lane in each direction).
- Sidewalks will stay open for the entire duration. There will only be localized closures for sidewalks when the contractor is installing a connection to a building.
- Our contractor will have signage to advise pedestrians of any detours/closures.
When?
- We expect to start work on or about June 27, 2022.
- The duration of this traffic control setup will be in place for about 5 weeks, but that is subject to weather and soil conditions.
