Project 25-2300 D – July 15, 2025 update
Streets affected: Denison Avenue, Braemore Road, Dusty Lane and West Street
Advance notice
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region will be extending the watermains and replacing the sanitary sewers and services in your area within the next two years.
This map shows the details on the construction area on:
- Denison Avenue between McLaughlin Road and Haggert Avenue, and McMurchy Avenue and Park St.
- Braemore Road
- Dusty Lane
- West Street between Railroad Street and Denison Avenue.
Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your area.
Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet.
As pipes age, we need to replace them to provide you with high-quality water and wastewater services.
Important note
Construction will take place in the municipal right-of-way. This may include the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road. This work may impact the bottom of your driveway and the area around the sidewalk. We recommend that you delay major landscaping or driveway paving until construction is completed.
Before construction beings
We will be in your neighbourhood conducting field investigations along Denison Avenue, West Street from Denison Avenue to Railroad Street, Braemore Road and Dusty Lane.
- We will survey your street and use temporary spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We will drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations. The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road.
- We will take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction takes place.
We expect these activities to take place between June 23, 2025 and September 30, 2025.
Consultant working hours
The work taking place in June and July will be completed by Envision Consultants under contract to Peel Region. The consultant conducting work between August and September is still to be confirmed. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws.
Traffic impacts
There may be minor traffic disruptions during these activities. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions.
What to expect during construction
Watch our short video to learn what to expect before, during, and after watermain construction. The video also answers common questions about:
- Why your water may be temporarily shut off.
- How traffic, parking, and waste collection may be affected.
- How driveways, roads, and sod (grass) are repaired.
Keeping you informed
We’re currently in the early planning stages, so we cannot give exact dates. As your city’s future planning activities may change, we may also update our plans to improve watermains and sanitary sewers. We’ll deliver more detailed information closer to the start of construction.
