Project 24-2980
Advance notice
Peel Region will be upgrading the sewage pumping station in your area within the next two years, as shown on the attached map. Sewage pumping stations are facilities within our sewage collection system that pump wastewater from low elevations in our system to higher elevations, so that they may be conveyed to a treatment facility via a larger gravity sewer. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet.
Upgrades to the Jack Darling Sewage Pumping Station are required to keep up with growth in your area.
Important note
Construction will take place within Region of Peel Owned lands in the park.
Before construction begins
Before construction starts:
- We’ll use spray paint or flags within the park to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We may drill holes in the park to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations.
- We’ll take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction.
Temporary Trail and Park Impacts
There may be scheduled, short duration, impacts to Jack Darling Park, including leash free areas, to complete the design of the sewage pumping station.
Keeping you informed
We’re currently in the early planning stages, so we cannot give exact dates. As your city’s future planning activities may change, we may also update our plans to upgrade the sewage pumping station. We’ll deliver more detailed information as the project progresses.
