Project 24-2593
Streets affected: Orangeville-Brampton Railway between Old School Road and Vodden Street West
Advance notice and pre-design field investigation
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region is undertaking the Kennedy Road Sanitary Trunk Sewer Environmental Assessment Study to help ensure sewage capacity requirements are met to support planned growth in Peel Region. If approved, a new sanitary sewer will be installed in your area by 2030, as indicated on the map.
Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet. As our population grows, we need to build larger sewers to provide you and the community with high-quality wastewater services.
This notice is to inform you of the upcoming field work that will take place near your neighbourhood.
Field investigation work
We will be conducting field investigations along the Orangeville-Brampton Railway corridor, between Old School Road and Vodden Street West.
- We will drill holes within the railway easement using a borehole rig machine to collect soil samples and determine ground conditions.
- We will take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after the investigations are complete.
We expect these activities to happen between mid-September and the end of October 2025.
Consultant working hours
The work will be completed by EnVision Consultants Ltd. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws.
Temporary closures
While the Orangeville-Brampton Railway corridor is currently marked with “No Trespassing” signs, we are advising residents not to enter the railway corridor at any time to ensure public safety.
