Project 22-1340 A - December 18, 2024 update
Peel Region has been working in your area to rehabilitate the watermain on Torbram Road.
At this time, we have:
- Rehabilitated the watermain on Torbram Road
- Connected properties to the new watermain by replacing individual water service pipes/boxes
- Temporarily repaired the driveways, road, curbs and sidewalk where disturbed by the watermain rehabilitation work.
The remaining work has been put on hold due to the weather. We will shut down for the winter on December 20, 2024 and have clean up the site. We have left the construction site in a safe condition for the rest of the winter.
Schedule for remaining construction and repair work
We expect to start work again in April 2025 to complete the following:
- Completing the repair of driveways, road, curbs, sidewalk, and sod (grass) where disturbed by the watermain rehabilitation work. This will include replacing the temporary asphalt repairs on driveways, curbs, sidewalks, and roads to complete the final restoration.
We plan to complete this work by the end of May 2025.
More details about restoration will be shared in a follow-up notice.
What to expect during construction
Learn what to expect when watermain construction resumes in the spring by visiting watermain construction and watching our short video. The video goes behind the scenes to show what happens during and after construction. This website also answers common questions about:
- Why your water may be temporarily shut off,
- How traffic, parking, and waste collection may be affected,
- How driveways, roads and sod (grass) are repaired after construction is finished.
Settlement of the ground
It is normal for repaired areas to settle a bit in the coming months. If you notice large potholes forming in the driveway, street, lawn or boulevard, please let us know and we will ensure the contractor fixes this.
Keeping you informed
We will let you know if there are any major changes to the plans.
