Project updates
Construction details
The work includes:
- Removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter, and traffic islands.
- Installation of multi-use path and cross-ride.
- Removal and replacement of storm structures, including frames and grates.
- Intersection improvement, streetlighting, and traffic signal modifications.
- Road resurfacing, base repairs, pavement markings, restoration, and minor related works.
Construction schedule
Construction starting October 2024 and finishing Fall 2025 (weather permitting)
Working hours
- Pave-Al Ltd. has been contracted to complete the work on the Region’s behalf.
- Hours of operations are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and work may also be done on Saturdays.
- These hours follow the city’s by-laws. Extended working hours may cause some inconvenience to the public, however, will help to facilitate the completion of the project as quickly as possible.
Traffic control
- The project will be phased to minimize traffic disruptions while maintaining a safe working environment as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Existing traffic flows will be maintained during construction. However, due to the nature of the work, we will need to reduce traffic lanes and temporarily block intersections during construction.
- Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
- Please use caution when travelling through the work zone.
Driveway access
- We will maintain driveway access as much as possible. If we need to block your driveway for a short time, you will be contacted to arrange for the best time.
- We will ensure businesses have access at all times.
