    Project 19-2208

    New sanitary sewer installation

Streets affected: Erin Mills Parkway, Erin Centre Boulevard, Mississauga Road, Queen Street North, Queen Street South, and Britannia Road West

    Advance notice

Peel Region will be installing new sanitary sewers in your area within the next year. This map shows the area of the installation on Mississauga Road and Queen Street, Britannia Road West, and Erin Centre Boulevard between Mississauga Road and Erin Mills Parkway.

Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet. As our population grows, we need to build larger sewers to provide you with high-quality wastewater services.

    Important note

Construction will take place in the municipal right-of-way and within easements.

    • The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road.
    • An easement is where Peel Region has legal access to enter your property to maintain and improve Peel’s infrastructure.

    Before construction begins

    Before construction starts:

    1. We’ll use spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
    2. We may drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations.
    3. We’ll take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction.

These activities are ongoing and are expected to conclude by December 2025.

    Temporary trail and park closures

Temporary closures will be required along the Culham Trail within Timothy Street Park during the construction period.

    Keeping you informed

We’re currently in the planning stages, so we cannot give exact dates. As your city’s future planning activities may change, we may also update our plans to install sanitary sewers. We’ll deliver more detailed information closer to the start of construction.
