Project 18-2905 H – October 5, 2026 update
Street affected: 1650 Watersedge Road, Mississauga
Construction work in your area
Peel Region will be improving Sewage Pumping Station located at 1650 Watersedge Road, Mississauga. Wastewater usually flows downhill through sewer pipes. A sewage pumping station is used in low spots to pump it uphill so it can reach the wastewater treatment plant. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality wastewater services.
Background
Over the next two years, the Region of Peel will upgrade this pumping station and add new emergency storage tank to increase its capacity. These upgrades will help the system handle more wastewater, reduce the risk of sewer backups or spills to the lake, and keep the wastewater system reliable for the future.
Construction schedule
Construction is planned to start in October 2026 and finish by mid 2028. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events. All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
Planned work
- Excavation and Concrete Structures - Fall 2026
- Equipment Installations - Fall 2027
- New Connections to the New Facility - Spring 2028
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Romag Contracting Ltd. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your neighbourhood.
Temporary parking lot closure
During construction, the parking lot next to the Sewage Pumping Station will be used as a temporary work area for the contractor’s materials and equipment.
Vibrations, noise, and dust
You could feel slight vibrations and experience some minor noise and dust from construction work.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Visit work zone safety for more information.
