Project 18-2905 H
Street affected: 1650 Watersedge Road, Mississauga
Advance notice
Peel Region will be improving Sewage Pumping Station located at 1650 Watersedge Road, Mississauga within the next 2 years, as shown on the attached map. Wastewater usually flows downhill through sewer pipes. A sewage pumping station is used in low spots to pump it uphill so it can reach the wastewater treatment plant. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality wastewater services.
Background
Over the next two years, the Peel Region will upgrade this pumping station and add new emergency storage tank to increase its capacity. These upgrades will help the system handle more wastewater, reduce the risk of sewer backups or spills to the lake, and keep the wastewater system reliable for the future.
Before construction begins
Before we start construction, you may notice activities in your area:
- We will survey your street and use temporary spray paint or flags to mark the location of underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We will take pictures and record video to help us restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction takes place. We expect these activities to take place early summer 2026.
Temporary parking lot closure
During construction, the parking lot next to the Sewage Pumping Station will be used as a temporary work area for the contractor’s materials and equipment. We will provide alternative parking locations. We’ll deliver more detailed information closer to the proposed construction date.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
