Project 18-1169 – February 16, 2024 update 1
Streets affected: Goreway Drive/Humberwest Parkway at Queen Street East.
Peel Region has been working in your neighbourhood to install watermains and sanitary sewer pipes along Queen Street East. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water and wastewater services.
At this stage in the project, temporary lane reductions will be required as follows:
- Humberwest Parkway as noted below will be extended to March 15, 2024.
- Goreway Drive as noted below on February 26 and 27, 2024.
Traffic impacts – Humberwest Parkway north of Queen Street East
- Northbound Humberwest Parkway will be reduced to two lanes from Queen Street East to just south of Goreway Drive.
- The multi-use path / sidewalk in this area will remain open with partial diversion to the curb lane.
- The Brampton Transit bus stops in this area will remain unaffected, including:
- Humberwest Parkway Route 5: Stop ID 2486.
- Two lanes of traffic in each direction will always remain open, unless notified otherwise.
- Digital road signs will remain in place throughout the work and will be updated accordingly.
Traffic Impacts – Goreway Drive south of Queen Street East
- Northbound Goreway Drive will be reduced to one lane from north of Auction Lane to 150m south of Queen St East.
- Northbound Goreway Drive will be reduced to two lanes from 150m south of Queen Street East.
- The multi-use path / sidewalk in this area will remain open during the work.
- The Brampton Transit bus stops in this area will remain unaffected, including:
- Goreway Drive Route 5: Stop ID 2485.
- The lane closure will be in effect during the day only.
- All driveway access will be maintained.
- A minimum of one northbound lane will remain open at all times. Southbound traffic will remain unaffected.
- Digital road signs will remain in place throughout the work and will be updated accordingly.
