Project 18-1169 – April 9, 2024 update
Streets affected: Queen Street East and McVean Drive from Queen Street East to Ebenezer Road.
Peel Region has been working in your neighbourhood to install watermains and sanitary sewer pipes along Queen Street East. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water and wastewater services.
At this stage in the project a temporary bus stop relocation and nightly road closure will be required to complete this work.
Traffic impacts
- McVean Drive will be closed nightly (from 6pm to 6am) to all through traffic from Ebenezer Road to Queen Street East. This temporary road closure is expected to occur from April 15th to April 18th.
- The Brampton Transit Züm Route 501 (Stop ID 4037), will be temporarily relocated to the second hydro pole, approximately 115 metre east of McVean Drive from April 10th to April 18th.
- The Brampton Transit additional routes in this area will also be affected as part of McVean Drive closure (April 15th to April 18th), including:
- Queen Street Route 1: Buses will be routed through Cherrycrest Road instead of McVean Drive. Stop ID 3616 and stop ID 3410 on Ebenezer Road will be temporarily relocated to northbound Cherrycrest Drive (immediately south of Ebenezer Road/Cherrycrest Drive intersection).
- McVean Drive Route 31: Buses will be routed through Cherrycrest Drive, turning westbound on Ebenezer Road, then north on McVean Drive. Stop ID 3603 will be relocated on McVean Drive (immediately north of Ebenezer Road).
- The multi-use path / sidewalk in this area will remain open during the work.
- All driveway access will be maintained.
- Digital road signs will remain in place throughout the work and will be updated accordingly.
We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.
