Bridge rehabilitation

What are we doing
The work includes, but is not limited to:
- Repairing the bridge deck, soffit, abutment walls, parapet walls, sidewalk and median.
- Installation of a new waterproofing system and pavement.
- Restoration and minor related works.
When
- Construction Start: July 22, 2024 – Weather permitting
- Construction Finish: September 30, 2024 – Weather permitting
Working hours
- The Contractor’s normal working hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday, during which all major works will be completed.
- The Contractor is permitted to work on four scheduled weekends from 10 p.m. on Friday through 5 a.m. on Monday.
- Advanced notification of weekend work will be placed on Variable Message Signs on the east and west approaches to the construction area.
- These hours are consistent with local municipality bylaws. This work may cause inconvenience, however, longer work days allow the project to be completed more quickly.
Traffic control
- Existing traffic flows will be maintained during construction.
- Traffic lanes will be temporarily reduced during construction.
- Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
- Barriers and signage will be placed for safety and direction in accordance with the Occupation Health and Safety Act.
- Use caution when travelling through work zones.
