Project 16-4014
Street affected: 7848 Finch Avenue West
Advance notice
Peel Region will be improving the Stormwater Pumping Station located at 7848 Finch Avenue West, Brampton within the next two years, as shown on the attached map. Stormwater usually flows downhill through sewer pipes. A pumping station is used in low spots to pump it uphill so it can reach the storm system.
This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality stormwater services.
Background
Over the next two years, Peel Region will upgrade this pumping station to meet current standards. These upgrades will help the system handle more stormwater, reduce the risk of area flooding, and keep the stormwater system reliable for the future.
Refer to the environmental assessment for background information.
Before construction begins
Before we start construction, you may notice activities in your area:
- We will survey your street and use temporary spray paint or flags to mark the location of underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We will take pictures and record videos to help us restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction takes place. We expect these activities to take place early summer 2026.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
