Project 16-1177 - October 14, 2021 update
Streets affected: Mayfield Road, 90 metres West of The Gore Road.
What we're doing
Project sketch - Mayfield road
Constructing a new watermain across Mayfield Road approximately 90 metres west of The Gore Road.
When
Construction will be active at this location from about 12 p.m. Thursday, October 21 to about 12 p.m. Friday, October 22, with the majority of the work being completed overnight.
This work is being scheduled for overnight to reduce the impacts to traffic flow on Mayfield Road. We understand this may cause some minor noise for the one night. However, completing this work during our normal working day hours would create major traffic disruptions on Mayfield Road as well as safety issues for our Contractor.
Traffic impact
At the start of construction, from about 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, two-way traffic will be maintained through the use of a lane shift.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, traffic on Mayfield Road will be reduced to a single lane overnight to 7 a.m. Friday morning.
At 7 a.m. Friday, two-way traffic will be reinstated through the use of a lane shift once again.
At 12 p.m. Friday, the lane shift will be removed, and Mayfield Road is expected to return to normal driving conditions.
During all of this work, flag persons and police will be present to direct traffic. When driving through this area during the times listed above, you may experience some delays with traffic.
