Project 14-1346 E - September 15, 2022 update

Streets affected: Winston Churchill Boulevard from Dundas Street to Unity Drive.

The Region of Peel will be working in your area to install a new watermain along Winston Churchill Boulevard. Our contractor has started setting up equipment and materials in your neighborhood to prepare for this construction. We originally planned to start this watermain construction in mid-July however, are encountering delays in obtaining locates (of underground utilities) that are required for construction to begin. We are working with our contractor to obtain the required locates to start this underground work in a timely manner. We apologize for any inconveniences resulting from this delay.

Construction schedule

Construction is expected to begin within the next few weeks and be completed by the middle of 2023.

Contractor and working hours

The work will be completed by Sam Rabito Construction under contract to the Region of Peel. This contractor’s normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with the local municipality’s bylaws. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but shorter working days would require your neighbourhood to be under construction for a longer period of time.

Traffic impacts

We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane during construction. If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions. On-street parking will be reduced during construction when we are actively working on your street.
