Project 14-1240 – December 20, 2024 – update
Streets affected: Dixie Road and Williams Parkway Intersection
Peel Region is going to be working in your neighbourhood to replace the watermain along Williams Parkway. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water services.
At this stage in the project, a long-term temporary lane reduction will be required to complete this work.
Traffic impacts
- Westbound and eastbound on Williams Parkway will be reduced to a single lane.
- Northbound and southbound on Dixie Road will be reduced to a single lane.
- Temporary traffic lights will be installed at the intersection to facilitate the lane reduction.
- These lane reductions are expected to occur from January 8, 2025, until March 2025. Similar lane reductions will be implemented again in 2026.
- Due to the installation of traffic lights and traffic management plans from January 8, 2025, to January 10, 2025, please expect significant delays at the intersection of Dixie Road and Williams Parkway.
- Please expect delays and choose alternate routes if possible.
We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts
Pedestrian impacts
No new impacts to pedestrians are expected at this stage. Temporary traffic lights will be installed for pedestrians as well. However, please be reminded of the following impacts as per the previous notice:
- The sidewalk will be closed on the north side of Williams Parkway between Dixie Road and Howden Boulevard.
- Pedestrians will need to use the sidewalk on the south side of Williams Parkway.
- Alternatively, pedestrians may still access Newbridge Crescent and Newcastle Crescent via the trails connecting to the sidewalk on the north side of Williams Parkway.

Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
