    Project update

Jun 9, 2026 - Notice of Winston Churchill Boulevard road closure (June 22 to November 13, 2026)

    Construction details

    The work includes:

    • Road reconstruction, including the removal and replacement of asphalt pavement on Winston Churchill Boulevard.
    • Addition of paved shoulders.
    • Intersection and streetlighting improvements at the Old Pine Crest Road and Wanless Drive intersections.
    • Removal and replacement of culverts and storm sewers.
    • Slope stabilization, grading at embankments, ditches, and culvert inlets and outlets.

Refer to the map for the construction area.

    Construction schedule

Construction began June 2026 and is expected to be completed by the Fall of 2027 (weather permitting).

    Working hours

    • Limen Const. Ltd. has been contracted to complete the work on Peel Region’s behalf.
    • Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work may also be done on Saturdays.
    • These hours follow the city’s by-laws. Extended working hours may cause some inconvenience to the public, but will help to facilitate the completion of the project as quickly as possible.

    Traffic control

    • The project will be phased to minimize traffic disruption while maintaining a safe working environment as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
    • A lane per direction will be maintained whenever possible. Should a lane per direction not be possible, the Contractor will allow a minimum of a single lane of traffic and have a flag person and/or temporary signals onsite at all times to guide traffic.
    • Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
    • Please use caution when travelling through the work zone.

    Driveway access

    • Driveway access will be maintained as much as possible. If we need to block your driveway for a short time, we will notify you 24 hours in advance.
    • We will make sure businesses have access at all times.
