Join us as a volunteer at our vaccination clinics, where you can offer non-clinical assistance. These clinics administer routine school vaccinations and COVID-19 vaccines at various community locations across Peel, aiming to reduce the impact of vaccine-preventable diseases on our community. If you’re a people person and are ready to work in a fast-paced clinic environment, this may be the role for you.
Requirements

- must commit to a minimum of 3 shifts of 4 hours each
Locations
Various clinic locations throughout Peel region, we will do our best to place you at a location that is convenient to you.
Show your passion for helping seniors by working one-on-one and in group settings at our Long Term Care Centres.
You will take part in a variety of programs at our centres including:
- Activation programs
help residents attending various programs including bingo, music, trivia, baking, crafts, games and gardening - General store
sell basic items and snacks to residents, clients families and visitors - Dining support
assist residents and clients at mealtimes - Outings
Attend group outings such as shopping, restaurants and bowling with residents and clients - Friendly visit
spend time with residents and clients one on one and support them in a variety of activities, including reading, writing and games
Requirements
- Age 14 or over
- Able to commit to at least 3 hours a week for a minimum of 60 hours
- Comfortable volunteering with seniors
- Have good verbal communication skills
- Be patient and calm even when faced with a difficult situation
- Experience interacting with seniors
- Maintain a professional and confidential relationship with the residents and clients

Become an on-call community CPR and AED responder
Volunteers will be notified of cardiac emergencies via a mobile phone app and will give help during a cardiac arrest until paramedics arrive.
You will act as ambassadors for our paramedics’ community resuscitation initiatives and help maintain, inspect and update the Peel AED registration database.
Requirements:
- Age 18 and over
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Able to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate empathy in stressful situations
- Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must spend most of time between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the Region of Peel
- Able to be notified by a mobile phone app
- Must attend mandatory orientation and ongoing education sessions
- Must commit to at least 1 year

Locations
This program serves visitors and residents of the Region of Peel in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon. Volunteers will only be notified of cardiac emergencies in their local vicinity.
Volunteer recruitment for the Aphasia program is currently on hold.
Help adults living with aphasia by supporting and developing their communications skills. Aphasia is a condition often caused by brain injury or stroke. A person with aphasia may have trouble with things like talking, reading or writing.
- Help program participants take part in activities by using supportive communication methods for people with aphasia. You will receive training as part of this volunteer work
- Aid staff in set up of program area
Requirements
- Age 18 or over
- Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Second language an asset
- Volunteers are assigned to 1 weekly shift of 4 hours
- Must commit to at least 6 months
- Enjoy working with adults with health conditions such as aphasia
Schedule
The Aphasia Program takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.

Our in-home visitor volunteers give needed support to families and caregivers in the community. This is part of the Region's Healthy Babies Healthy Children program. Our volunteers
- Promote healthy growth and development in children
- Support isolated and overburdened families by taking part in activities with children as defined by program staff
- Talk to clients about how to plan the right activities for their children
- Are trained to help them prepare for this role.
Requirements
- Age 18 or over
- Must commit to a weekday shift of 3 hours per week for a minimum of 40 hours
- Willingness to volunteer in the home of an assigned client
- Desire and passion for volunteering with families
- Can work independently without direct staff supervision
- Experience caring for children ages birth to 6 years
- Maintain a professional and confidential relationship with the client
- Show empathy, compassion for challenges faced by families with young children
- Friendly and approachable with good verbal communication skills

- This program serves clients in Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon
- Volunteers are assigned to a client in a location that is suitable for the volunteer

Our parent to parent peer program gives support and promotes breastfeeding either in person or on the phone.
Telephone support volunteers
Call assigned new parents on a regular basis to offer support until baby is 3 months old.
Peer presenter volunteers
Present at a Peel programs such as Healthy Start.
Clinic peer volunteers
attend Peel drop-in Baby Feeding clinics to offer support.
Facebook volunteers
take part in an online closed breastfeeding group to support mothers.
Hospital peer volunteers
attend shifts on post partum unit to support new parents. If interested in hospital only, you can also apply directly to Trillium Health Partners.
Requirements
- Have breastfed your own child for a minimum of 6 months
- Interest in promoting breastfeeding
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Second language an asset
- 8 to 10 hours a month and minimum 1 year commitment
Locations
Telephone support role and Facebook role can take place from any location.
Help promote nutrition to pre-natal and new parents and their children.
- Help prepare healthy meals for pre-natal clients
- Take part in activities with children ages 1 to 6 years
- Support staff with meal preparation, cooking demonstrations and set up and clean up for program site

- Experience or interest in caring for young children
- Good verbal communication skills

To assemble packages and give clerical support throughout the Region of Peel while keeping confidentiality.

assemble packages for the program with the main goal to prevent the spread of HIV and Hepatitis B and C among drug users and self-piercers. - Healthy Sexuality Clinic
filing, photocopying, organizing resources, keeping inventory and replenishing supplies during non-clinic hours. - Family Health

Volunteer recruitment for events is currently onhold.
Our event support volunteers help us out with our community events like the Bike Fest, Tour de Mississauga, Caregiver Symposium, Adult Day Services Summer Games, Immunization Clinics and Young Parents Picnic.
Time commitments vary from a few hours to longer depending on the event. Duties range from help with set up, tear down, running activities and sharing information.
We will give more information on specific tasks and timelines as events are scheduled.
