The vision
Chelsea Gardens is a project included in the Peel Community Housing Development Program. This long-term capital infrastructure plan guides how we’ll create more affordable housing in Peel.
The site was selected for its strong access to transit, services, and community amenities. Today, Chelsea Gardens includes two existing 13‑storey buildings with 250 units. The new development will add a third tower up to 20 storeys, with 200 additional units.
Chelsea Gardens participated in Enbridge Gas’s Savings by Design program to integrate energy efficiency into the project from the early design phase, working collaboratively with Enbridge’s technical advisors to evaluate and enhance building systems. Through this process, the project team identified practical opportunities to improve energy performance, reduce long-term operating costs, and support sustainability objectives, resulting in a more efficient, high-performing building aligned with Enbridge’s energy conservation and emissions reduction goals.
Peel hosted an informal community consultation with its planning consultants for residents on January 19. Access the recording.
Design
The new building will include barrier‑free units and additional parking. Balconies are not planned for this tower.
Amenity space
Residents will have access to shared indoor spaces designed for everyday use, including areas for socializing, relaxing, and participating in community activities.
Parking
The new building will include secure underground parking available exclusively for residents.
