    Bell Tower Residences

    Bell Tower Residences is a successful project realized as part of the Peel Affordable Rental Incentives Program.

    This project was selected through the 2022 round of the Peel Affordable Rental Incentives Program. Canahahns Co. Ltd. were awarded funding by Peel Region to build 7 affordable rental housing units.

    The building

    2340 Confederation Parkway is centrally located in Ward 7, close to Square One, the 403, the QEW, Trillium Mississauga Hospital, and schools.

    The vision

    The Peel Affordable Rental Incentives Program is a capital grant program designed to support private and non-profit developers to build affordable rental housing. The Program advances Pillar 3 of the Peel Housing and Homelessness Plan’s 5 pillars: maximize planning tools and incentives to encourage the development community to help build affordable housing in Peel.

    Bell Tower Residences is a rental building with 82 units, 7 of which are affordable rental housing units funded through the Peel Affordable Rental Incentives Program.

    Features

    The building was constructed of modular, pre-cast concrete and is designed to be energy efficient, highly functional and provide modern features including:

    • Geothermal heating and cooling with individual fan coil units in each suite
    • Thermally broken balconies for each suite
    • Six appliances in each suite
    • EV charging stations, secured bicycle parking, and car share spaces
    • Larger units with two 3-piece washrooms in two- and three-bedroom units
    • 50% more barrier free units than required by the OBC
    • Exercise facility, tenant lounge, and party room
    • On site management and management office
    • December 2024: Construction ends.
    • June 2023: The project is approved to receive funding by Regional Council.
    • December 2022: Construction of parking structure begins.
    • November 2022: Canahahns Co. Ltd submit their application to the Peel Affordable Rental Incentives Program.
